We use cookies to make our website easier to use and more intuitive. The data collected through cookies are used to make the browsing experience more enjoyable and more efficient in the future.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files sent from the site to the user's computer (usually to the browser), where they are stored before being re-transmitted to the site by the same user on his/her next visit. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user's hard disk nor transmit computer viruses or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user's web browser. Some of the functions of cookies can be delegated to other technologies. In this document, the term 'cookie' refers to both cookies and to all similar technologies.
Type of cookies
Cookies can be first or third party, where "first part" means the cookie that report as the site domain, while "third party" means the cookies that are related to external domains.
Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an external subject, always referred to as "third party", not run by the website. These subjects may also install first-party cookies, saving their own cookies on the site's domain.
Another type of cookie is the so-called "Flash cookies" (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player to deliver some content, such as video clips or animations, in order to remember settings and preferences. Flash cookies are stored on the device, but they are managed through an interface other than the one provided by the browser being used.
Nature of cookies
With regard to the nature of cookies, there are different types:
Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of "carrying out the transmission of certain information on an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information service to provide services requested explicitly by the subscriber or user" (see article 122, paragraph 1 of the Code).
They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the website's administrator or operator. They can be divided into:
- browsing or session cookies, which guarantee the normal browsing and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authentication for access to restricted areas); they are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site;
- analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site owners to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the website, in order to improve the website's performance;
- functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse based on a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to them. The prior consent of users is not required for installation of these cookies (more information is provided in the Managing Cookies section below).
Profiling cookies
They are designed to create user profiles and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user when surfing the net.
Consent from the data subject is required to use profiling cookies. According to the provision (more information can be found in the paragraph Managing cookies at the bottom) the user can choose to give or not give their consent to the installation of cookies through the options provided in the "Managing cookies" section.
In the case of third-party cookies, the website has no direct control of individual cookies and cannot control them (cannot install them directly or delete them). You can still manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below), or the websites listed in the "Managing Cookies" section. Users are therefore advised to check the website of the third party indicated in the table below.

You can disable these cookies from the browser by following the instructions in the dedicated paragraph, but you will compromise your experience on the website and we will not be responsible for any poor site performance.
Duration of cookies
Cookies have a duration dictated by the expiry date (or by a specific action such as closing the browser) set at the time of installation.
Cookies can be:
- temporary or session cookies: they are used to store temporary information, they allow you to link the actions performed during a specific session and are removed from the computer when the browser is closed;
- permanent or persistent cookies: they are used to store information, for example the login name and password, so as to avoid the user having to enter them again each time he/she visits a specific website. These remain stored on your computer even after you close your browser.
Managing cookies
In compliance with the directives of the Code regarding the protection of personal data (Leg. Decree no. 196, dated 30 June 2003, hereinafter referred to as the "Code") and, in particular, to Articles 13, Paragraph 3 and 122, Paragraph 1 and with reference to the provision of Identification of the simplified procedures for the Disclosure Notice and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies - 8 May 2014 (Published in the Official Gazette No. 126 of 3 June 2014), you can alter your consent for the use of cookies at any time.
Nous Lab Srl will keep track of the user's consent(s) through a specific technical cookie, considered by the Data Protection Authority as a "not particularly invasive" tool.
